Some say they never existed on Cape Cod and others are not so sure. Historians and local Cape Codders weigh-in on stories passed down through generations by telling different accounts of what likely took place during a time when thousands of ships wrecked off the outer Cape between Provincetown and Monomoy in the 17th and 18th century.
